Plays that provoket

Ms. Sandifer's plays point the way towards non-violent conflict resolution through learning to peacefully communicate. They all teach how to interact with each other and avoid thinking about using guns to solve conflicts. The four plays below are part of a series that deals with preventing violence in schools and communities and in helping youth handle conflict through peaceful resolutions. The fictional settings place the characters in situations where they learn to interact without using violence.
Each has a cast of from 12 to 15 players and is suitable for performances by high school theatre departments, community centers or church youth groups.

Tears That We Cry

Tears That We Cry is my own creation. It started out to be “Tears for a Son.”  After going through many situations that were real in my life and watching others shed so many tears, I decided to share my healing with others.  Maybe we can grow and learn that, in every life, some tears will fall.  But if we hold on to each other we can render the storm.

Starship to Hollywood

I wrote a book called Starship to Hollywood many, many years ago.  I also wrote the lyrics for two songs many years ago.  After writing my play, Tears That We Cry, I wanted to make it into a series of plays.  Since I created my own school and my own city and characters, I wanted it to give a positive message to young people to let them know there are many ways of dealing with a situation.  Talk it out before you pick up a gun and have the mind frame of taking someone’s life.

The Designee Two Defeat

Now that I’ve gone through The Designee Two Defeat, I somehow feel a brief moment of relief.  When I start to feel as my own.  Suddenly I can see this nightmare almost gone.  Think back when it first began, I did not understand.  The designee of an unforgotten pain.  Thinking back when it first began, I did not know if I was still here or gone home with my other peers.  I remember touching Jesus’ hand, a brief moment, a ray of light.  Who came only from one man; a Man who can do anything; heal the sick by the touch of his hand.  Jesus the Untouchable, His Faith is forever only from Above. These are the first words written that helped me create The Designee Two Defeat.  I hope you find Peace in the words and understanding in the play.

Put Your Gun Away, Let’s Learn to Pray

This is a play that takes place in Wilson Wates Washington at Miller Mind Middle School.  It’s about the fact that you sometimes have your follies and you sometimes have your forever follies.  It makes you think and chuckle at the same time during the performance; you’ll want to put your gun away and learn to pray.  And when you see Pretty Girl CoCo Milton, the girl of any man’s dreams, you start to dream.

The Rough Side of Sunny Boy's Hill
Sunny Boy Hill was murdered by a guy named Sweet Thang at the age of 18. This play is an emotional family event and will be available soon.
